Kathryn Hauser brings substantial experience working at the highest levels of business and government on cutting-edge issues to drive innovation and expand international commerce She served as U.S. Executive Director of the CEO-level TransAtlantic Business Dialogue (TABD) from 2005-2012, and previously held senior positions in the pharmaceutical and high technology trade associations, a private investment advisory firm, and Bell Atlantic Corporation (now known as Verizon). She began her career at the Office of the U.S. Trade Representative in the Executive Office of the President, and served as Deputy Assistant USTR for Multilateral Negotiations. She holds a BA from the University of Southern California and an MA from Columbia University.
Joanne Thornton is a respected international trade expert. Most recently, she was the lead trade and tax analyst for Guggenheim Securities' Washington Research Group. Her interpretation of the international economic landscape and anticipation of policy outcomes informed portfolio investment strategies across a variety of sectors. She has served on advisory boards for business, trade and wealth management organizations, as well as the State Department's ACIEP Sanctions Subcommittee. She holds a BA from Duquesne University and a MA from The George Washington University.
Ms. Hauser and Ms. Thornton serve as
Trade Advisors to the Global Business
Dialogue, an association for the global business community and people who
care about trade and trade policy. The principal task is to highlight
perspectives on global trade and investment and on the issues and decisions
that will shape commerce and the world’s
business environment in the years ahead.
