PCI Managing Partners Named Trade Advisors to the Global Business Dialogue
Ms. Hauser and Ms. Thornton serve as
Trade Advisors to the Global Business
Dialogue, an association for the global business community and people who
care about trade and trade policy.
The principal task of GBD is to highlight
perspectives on global trade and investment and on the issues and decisions
that will shape commerce and the world’s
business environment in the years ahead.
GBD convenes approximately 25 meetings per year bringing together
experts and practitioners for in-depth discussion of these important issues.
On September 10, 2014, Kathryn Hauser moderated a GBD event: Africa and American Trade Policy: An Update.

The first U.S.- Africa's Leaders' Summit last month wasn't just
another Washington meeting. It was a symbol of the growing dynamism of
sub-Saharan Africa, home to 10 of the world's 20 fastest growing

all have aggressive commercial policies in Africa that often undercut
American competitiveness in the region.
The backbone of U.S. trade policy in Africa is the African Growth
and Opportunity Act, AGOA, which is up for renewal. (It expires on September 30, 2015).
On Wednesday, September 10, we will look at U.S. trade with Africa, the
policy, the commerce, and the challenges. We will do that with help
from these experts:
